Adjunct Riot
It is estimated that some 75 percent of faculty in higher education are adjuncts. We are paid a fraction of what full time professors are paid to teach the same classes with the same credentials. We have no job security, most have no benefits. Teaching at the college level, once a respectable profession, is now part of the gig economy.
Adjunct Riot is a compilation of stories submitted by contingent professors. Some names were changed at the writer's request. Adjunct Riot was printed at Drum Machine Editions and is included in several public and private collections. Public collections include: University of North Carolina Greensboro, Martha Blakeney Hodges Special Collections and University Archive; The Shop at Minnesota Center for Book Arts; Emily Carr University of Art and Design + Wendy’s Subway Publishing the Present.
